The county coroner told WQAD that the weather contributed to the worker’s death but that the cause of death is unknown. The temperature near East Moline on Thursday averaged -15 degrees Fahrenheit and reached a low of -33 degrees,according to Weather Underground.

Police told the news outlet that the worker’s body was found by another FedEx employee around 9:30 a.m. The coroner said authorities hadn’t determined how long the worker had been dead, though an investigation into the incident is in progress, according to WQAD.
