Just over a year ago, Netflix confirmed it would bereviving crime dramaTop Boyfor abrand newseries – which has now finished filming.

Originally broadcast on Channel Four in 2011, theprogrammefollowed a group of characters living on a fictional housing estate in Hackney,east London,homing inon a group of residents who were involved in drug dealing andgangs.

Billed as an ‘honest look’ at inner-city gang culture, the first season was a hit with viewers, meaning a second followed two years later.

Both series then also found a renewed fan base when they became available on Netflix – which is nowbringing us a third instalment.

Confirming that filming had wrapped on season three, actor Ashley Walters shared behind-the-scenes snaps on Instagram, writing: “New season complete. We did it for you and we hope you enjoy it. It’s been hard work but nothing worth having comes easy. Shout out to the whole team. WE DID IT. Too many names to mention so no@s. #alwayswinning#topboyseason3.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter,the third series will pick up with Dushane (played by Walters) returning to his former London home to try and reclaim his place as ‘top boy’. However, ruthless gang-leader Jamie has different ideas.

Looks like rapper Kano (aka Kane Robinson) will return as Sully, too.

He also took to social media to thank everyone involved in the revival ofTop Boy, saying: “Fuuuuuckin‘ finally!!! This is only 10% (or less) of the team but thanks to absolutely everyone involved in the process, behind and in front of the camera. Time to make history.

“PS. Excuse my lack of interaction during the past year or two but I’ve been grafting, man. Hope to put smiles on all of your faces v. soon.”

Walters has even hinted that Drake might make an appearance, after he helped spread the good word for the show on Twitter.

He told theMirror: “We met up to start talking about the show and we are working out a role for him.

“He loves acting, of course he wanted a part.

“He’s going to be reallyhandson and is getting stuck into it.”

Here’s hoping, eh? Either way, it looks like it’sgonnabe BIG.
