Real-life hero Harrison Ford comes to the rescue of woman in car accident

Hollywood star Harrison Ford has become a beacon of hope in the wake of the sex scandal that is engulfing the entertainment industry.

The Star Wars actor was trending on Monday (20 November), not for any sexual misconduct, but because he came to the rescue of a woman involved in a car crash.

The unidentified woman was travellingeast on California State Route 126 when she accidentally drove her Sedan off the road.

According to TMZ, the 75-year-old star – best known for playing heroes Hans Solo and Wars and Indiana Jones – was one of the first people on the scene of the collision on Sunday morning in Santa Paula.

The site reports that he pulled over and rushed to the woman’s aid to get her safely out of the vehicle before paramedics arrived.

Senior Officer Matt Alonzo of the Santa Paula Police Department said: “He acted as a good Samaritan, just like everybody else, and tried to help before emergency services arrived.”

They say good news travels fast so it didn’t take long for his deed to hit the news. Members of the online community expressed their joy that he was lauded as a hero and not trending for the wrong reason like some of his colleagues.

“FINALLY…a celebrity trending for doing good in this world —> and not being accused of rape, inappropriate touching or being the President,” one person wrote.

Another said: “It was such a pleasure to see this morning that HARRISON FORD was trending for being a hero rather than another celebrity pedophile or criminal! He is one of the last TRUE GENTLEMEN in Hollywood!”

In October Weinstein was hit with allegations of sexual harassment and assault from more than 30 women including Rose McGowan, Cara Delevinge, Kate Beckinsale and Gwyneth Paltrow. The claims cast a spotlight on Hollywood’s seedy underbelly and opened the floodgates with more victims of sexual assault speaking out against perpetrators.
