Holidaymakers have been left stranded after planes were stopped from landing at Leeds Bradford Airport due to reports of a drone being flown nearby.
Three aircraft are currently being held in the sky- flights from Southampton, Malaga and Alicante.
It is understood some planes are being diverted to airports in Humberside and Manchester while others have adopted a holding pattern nearby.
One passenger wrote on Twitter: ‘Finally landed, thanks to the one tool for flying a drone over the runway and delaying all flights.”
It was unclear whether they were able to land at Leeds Bradford or if they were diverted elsewhere.

One woman wrote: ‘So just about to take off when drone spotted so flight stopped!! Guess I could be sitting on this plane for a while ** – travelling to Belfast from Leeds Bradford Airport.’
This drone sighting comes after disaster hit Gatwick Airport in December last year when hundreds of flights were cancelled following reports of a drone close to the runway.
The reports caused major disruption, affecting approximately 140,000 passengers and 1,000 flights.
Passengers reacted with fury after being sent to land at different airports

A spokesperson for Leeds Bradford Airport said: ‘We are investigating reports of a drone over the airport.
‘An update will be provided soon.’
Meanwhile the local branch of Extinction Rebellion has tweeted to deny any involvement in the incident.
The group said on Twitter: ‘We understand that there are reports of drones over Leeds Bradford airport and that flights are suspended.
‘To be clear, this is *not* an Extinction Rebellion action and not something we’d support.’
