Live Reporting

All times stated are UK

  1. HALF-TIME

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

A sensational strike separates the sides at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea haven’t been at their best since Beth England’s fourth-minute shot and Spurs have responded very well to going behind.

    Plenty left in this one.

  2. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

    Jayne Ludlow

Wales manager on BBC red button

If you were a Tottenham player at the moment you would probably be pleased with 1-0.

They can probably do better but they are competing.

  3. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

A good save by Tottenham’s Becky Spencer at the other end as another shot from distance come in. Guro Reiten’s effort is watched all the way and pushed away to safety.

Two minutes of injury time to be played.

  4. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

    That’s brilliantly worked by Tottenham.

Gemma Davison is involved and she finds Kit Graham, who in turns slips to the ball to Ria Percival.

She strikes the ball from 25 yards but cannot bend it into the far corner. It wasn’t far of though..

  5. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

    Emma Sanders

    BBC Sport at Stamford Bridge

The sun has come out at Stamford Bridge so the players take a minute to grab some water while Hannah Godfrey gets some treatment.

  6. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

Adelina Engman gets on the end of a cute Ji So-Yun pass but miscues as a tussle with Hannah Godfrey puts the Finn off her stride. She dribbles her effort wide of the near post.

  7. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

    Jayne Ludlow

Wales manager on BBC red button

I think Emma Hayes would have expected a bit more from Chelsea.

She will be pleased with a lot of their general play but with the chances they have had I think she would have expected a couple more goals.

  8. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

Straight up the other end and more good approach play ends with Guro Reiten being crowded out and a Beth England strike from distance sailing over the bar.

Moments later no one is in the box to get on the end of a dangerous cross. Chelsea are really pressing for a second now.

  9. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

One of Tottenham’s many new signings Rachel Furness is very strong in the air and has a half chance from a free-kick and moments later Spurs really threaten when another new recruit, Kit Graham, bursts through on the right.

She strikes a low effort across goal, which is saved and then cleared.

    Encouraging stuff for the visitors.

  10. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

A delightful move on Chelsea’s right sees half the team involved before Guro Reiten pulls the ball back.

It doesn’t reach its intended target but Hannah Blundell races in from right-back only to see her shot deflected and easily collected by Spurs keeper Becky Spencer.

  11. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

Deja vu. Another Blues corner on the right, this time won by Adelina Engman.

Magdalina Eriksson is off target with her attempt when the cross comes in.

More pressure and Tottenham defender Hanna Godfrey does brilliantly to win a header with Beth England poised to nod the ball in.

  12. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

    Emma Sanders

    BBC Sport at Stamford Bridge

It’s been a tough half so far for Tottenham but they are not out of it. Spurs’ head coach Juan Amoros has been stood next to the touchline the entire time, shouting instructions, encouraging his players and trying to think up a Plan B.

Daniel Kerry: OH MY, WHAT A STRIKE BY BETH ENGLAND!

    Nobody is saving that. Nobody.

SeasideSpurs: Watching @SpursWomen for the first time, appreciate it’s our first season in the top flight, so not expecting miracles. First target, stay in this division, and build from there.

It was quite a strike from Beth England and you can watch it below!

  14. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

It’s possession, possession, possession as Chelsea work the ball from left to right and back inside and then again out to the right before winning a corner…

That’s easily cleared but then hacked away for throw-in. Tottenham cannot get any time on the ball but are defending well enough so far.

  15. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

The Chelsea full-backs are seeing plenty of the ball, Hannah Blundell, on the left, in particular.

On the latest occasion, Blundell has time and space after a well-worked move but her cross is poor. Chelsea are playing a diamond so the full-backs are basically operating as wing-backs when they have the ball.

  16. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

Another free-kick, which is delivered to the back post from the left. the Spurs keeper manages to claim it when it is knocked back in.

  17. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

A glimpse of the class of Chelsea’s only summer signing Guro Reiten, who gets possession as the high press works again in midfield and surges through, only to see her pass for Adelina Engman just about cut out.

  18. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

The first sight of Gemma Davison steaming down the wing will encourage Spurs fans. She has been a wonderful payer for many years now and may have lost a yard of pace but still has incredible ability.

The former Chelsea winger is crowded out on this occasion though.

  19. Post update

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

Chelsea try to work a clever free-kick between Ji So-Yun and Guro Reiten but it doesn’t quite come off.

  20. YELLOW CARD

    Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham

Chelsea have a corner. Tottenham are struggling to deal with Chelsea’s ability to stretch the pitch here.

It comes to nothing but it’s all Chelsea and there’s another free-kick 25 yards from goal for the Blues.

Jenna Schillaci is booked for a late tackle on Drew Spence.
