Shoppers have taken to social media to share their anger after their Christmas shopping was delivered – without vital elements of the dinner.

Dozens of people have messaged supermarket giants Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury’s over delivery blunders.

Several don’t have a turkey and others have reported that half their digital baskets were ‘wiped’ and only a few ordered items arrived.

Some say they booked their delivery slots weeks ago – only to be told on Monday (December 23) that their turkey was being substituted for a crown or drumsticks. Another said they had been given gammon instead of a turkey.

So @asda are sending a gammon instead of a turkey? 🙃

On twitter, all three big supermarkets have apologised individually to customers and have said they are working hard to ensure deliveries are made on time and as expected.

Did you order online and not receive items you’d bought? We want to hear from you! Comment below.

Hard to get crispy skin on a non existent turkey Asda! And you still have my money! pic.twitter.com/8WThGDiBlN

@asda Why bother letting me book a slot in November to find all these substitutes this morn? A £6.95 turkey crown as a substitute for my 2.5kg one????? Luckily @AldiUK came to the rescue!!!! pic.twitter.com/uHcFNqTIlv

Disappointed in @Tesco today. Booked my order weeks ago, arrived today, no turkey, no substitution!

Well done @Tesco

We do the Christmas shop online to avoid the traffic and you fail to delivery the turkey. That’s a BIG fail.

Now we need to try and find one.

@sainsburys total fail (TWICE!!) from you this year! Surely the point of pre-ordering it is that you can see what people want and put them to one side!! #Turkeyfail #thanksabunch 🙄😤 pic.twitter.com/z58ppHIcNp
