This children’s toy is flying off the shelves — and straight into our nightmares.

A new Sonic the Hedgehog toy — based on the blockbuster movie starring Jim Carrey — has hit stores, but fans of the quick-footed video game star should tread lightly.

The figure is modeled off the much-hated, bizarrely human-looking Sega mascot prior to Paramount’s redesign following intense backlash from fans.

Listed as ‘Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Spin Dash Sonic,’ the creepy toy can be purchased on Target’s website for $29.99.

The cuddly, ring-snatching mammal remains intact on the box’s image, but the toy itself with its lanky, chiseled legs — part of the reason fans were so freaked out by Sonic’s original design — apparently didn’t get the memo.

This seemingly careless error presumably happened because toys take a long time to design and produce — so by the time Paramount retooled the blue critter’s model, it was likely completed and ready for distribution.

Thankfully, more adorable versions of Sonic — based on the movie’s redesign — can be ordered on the toy site Entertainment Earth.

Released on Valentine’s Day, “Sonic the Hedgehog” has earned over $128M worldwide to date, according to Box Office Mojo.
