A statement published by joint administrators outlines that the group, which included the likes of Shearings, Caledonian Travel and Wallace Arnold, says that “all tours, cruises, holidays and hotel breaks booked with the Specialist Leisure Group have been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.”

Around 2,500 jobs are thought to have been lost and 64,000 booking cancelled following the announcement.

The statement goes on to say that all brand names have ceased to trade “due to the impact of Covid-19”

However it is unlikely that people living outwith Scotland will be encouraged to book a holiday until the autumn under the government body’s current plans.
