Anthony Martial Absent From Manchester United Flight

Anthony Martial was absent from the flight taking the Manchester United squad to compete in Germany.

Manager Jose Mourinho has had a fractious relationship with Anthony Martial ever since joining the side. The Red Devils boss was particularly displeased with the French attacker when he left Man United’s preseason tour this summer to see this wife and their newborn baby. But Martial hasn’t returned since, and hasn’t joined the side on the flight to Germany for their pre-season match against Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Mourinho had recently said of the player, via Sky Sports : “Anthony Martial has the baby and after the baby is born – beautiful baby, full of health, thank God – he should be here and he is not here.

“So we have Alexis [Sanchez] and [Juan] Mata who play every minute of every match and now we have Real Madrid and after that Bayern Munich and that’s our start.”

Martial has earned a section of faithful supporters from Man United but they will find it hard backing a player who hasn’t turned up to friendly matches.

Spurs were reportedly keen on bringing in the attacker this summer but so far Martial remains a Man Unitd player.

Where do you think Martial will end up playing for next season?
