Bizarre Twitter Exchange Between Conor McGregor And Khabib Shows How Times Have Changed

Throwback to when Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov were pals.

Before McGregor launched a dolly at a bus carrying Nurmagomedov, they were actually on friendly terms.

So much so, the unbeaten Russian wanted his t-shirt with McGregor even offering his services as a sparring partner.

Here’s their Twitter exchange from 2014:

How times have changed.

Four years on, the pair of elite 155lbs’ers now meet at UFC 229 on October 6th from Las Vegas, Nevada, with the UFC lightweight title on the line.

Ahead of UFC 229, the promotion have released a spine-tingling trailer featuring both combatants.

From McGregor’s brilliant soundbites to the mayhem he caused in Brooklyn.

The Irishman also posted a chilling message on Twitter:

WE CAN’T WAIT!

Nurmagomedov is set to make the first defence of his belt after claiming gold against Al Iaquinta at UFC 223.

McGregor, meanwhile, will make his first trip to the famed Octagon since 2016, where he dethroned Eddie Alvarez to become a simultaneous two-weight UFC champion.

Anyway, UFC president Dana White spoke toFOX Sportsfollowing the announcement of the fight, and claims there was no issues in pitting the two supreme fighters.

“Not difficult at all,” he said. “First of all, it’s what makes Conor McGregor the international superstar that he is and it’s what makes Khabib a straight killer.

“You have two of these guys, who are actually both straight killers, coming out of the gate and going straight after each other head-to-head.

“In their prime – incredible.”

Who’s everyone backing? Let us know.
