Diego Maradona Has Made An Incredible Revelation About What Messi Does Before A Game

Diego Maradona just can’t decide whether he loves or hates Lionel Messi and he’s made a revelation about what the Barcelona skipper does before games.

The Argentina legend, now managing Mexican second-tier side Dorados de Sinaloa, has questioned Messi’s ability as a leader and claimed he goes to the toilet 20 times before a game.

“Messi’s a great player, but he’s not a leader,” Maradona said to La Ultima Palabra Mexico on Fox Sports.

“Before talking to the Coach and players, he’ll play on the PlayStation. Then, on the field, he wants to be the leader. He’s the best in the world with Cristiano [Ronaldo].

“For me, it’s difficult to say it but it’s useless to make a leader out of a man who goes to the bathroom 20 times before a game.

“There’s no two ways about it. Let’s stop making a God out of Messi. Messi is just another player for Argentina.”

Messi looked incredibly stressed throughout the World Cup in Russia, where Argentina were eliminated by eventual winners France in the round of 16.

Though he’s scored 11 goals in as many games for Barcelona this season, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has made himself unavailable for selection for the time-being and Maradona believes there needs to be less pressure on him before he’s back in the fold.

“I wouldn’t call him up right now, but never say never,” the World Cup winner added.

“We have to take the pressure off him. We have to take the leadership away from Messi for him to be the Messi we want him to be.

“I’d make him play as I want. I’d call him up and play him how I know Messi plays.”

Do you agree with what Maradona has said about Messi?
