Johnny Depp has claimed that he has submitted 87 surveillance videos to support his defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
Depp is suing Heard for defamation with regards to several pieces that she has written about alleged abuse from thePirates of the Caribbeanstar.
Depp claims that he was abused by Heard and has alleged that she attacked him on several occasions, including one alleged incident in which a bottle of vodka was thrown at him.
On that occasion, representatives for Depp say that the bottle ‘severed (his) middle finger on his right hand and shattered the bones, causing him to require surgery’.
He also claims that she has punched and kicked him in other attacks.

Depp’s counter lawsuit claims that the allegations made by Amber Heard against him are part of a ‘hoax’.
Now, legal documents outlining Depp’s argument have been released to the public.
Depp and Heard met whilst they were filmingThe Rum Diaryin 2011 and married in 2015. However, they then divorced in May 2016. Since then, their relationship has been acrimonious and Heard filed domestic abuse charges against Depp that same month.
Depp denied the claims, but the pair settled their case out of court for $7m, which Heard then gave to charity. Both signed agreements not to discuss the case or their relationship in public.
However, Depp is now suing his former spouse for $50m after an op-ed piece in theWashington Postin 2018 in which she spoke about the alleged domestic abuse suffered.

Depp’s complaint to the court reads: “The op-ed depended on the central premise that Ms. Heard was a domestic abuse victim and that Mr. Depp perpetrated domestic violence against her.”
Despite that, the piece does not explicitly name Depp as the abuser. Now, Depp claims that her allegations: “Have been conclusively refuted by two separate responding police officers, a litany of neutral third-party witnesses, and 87 newly obtained surveillance camera videos.”
In the complaint, Depp argues that Heard used the abuse scandal to further her career in the wake of the #MeToo movement.
The court document continues: “Ms. Heard also knew that her elaborate hoax worked: As a result of her false allegations against Mr. Depp, Ms. Heard became a darling of the #MeToo movement, was the first actress named a Human Rights Champion of the United Nations Human Rights Office, was appointed ambassador on women’s rights at the American Civil Liberties Union, and was hired by L’Oréal Paris as its global spokesperson.”

Amber Heard’s attorney, Eric M. George, said: “This frivolous action is just the latest of Johnny Depp’s repeated efforts to silence Amber Heard.
“She will not be silenced.”
George continued: “Mr. Depp’s actions prove he is unable to accept the truth of his ongoing abusive behavior […] But while he appears hell-bent on achieving self-destruction, we will prevail in defeating this groundless lawsuit and ending the continued vile harassment of my client by Mr. Depp and his legal team.”
