Michy Batshuayi has had a relatively fraught time ever since moving to Chelsea in 2016. At such a young age and equipped with clear talent, the attacker has only made a handful of appearances for the Blues ever since his £33.2 million move to Stamford Bridge.

The Belgian striker is capable of scoring goals, but his sporadic appearances at the west London side has meant that his form hasn’t been fluid enough to get into a proper rhythm and clock up a significant goal -scoring record.

French outlet L’Equipe are now reporting that the striker might have a way out as he has sparked the interest of Atletico Madrid, who are keen on bringing the 24-year-old to Madrid.

In a recent meeting, new Blues boss Maurizio Sarri had informed Batshuayi that he’s keen to see the striker to remain at the Bridge.

But this recent report says that the player could well be La Liga-bound, as Los Colchoneros have been in touch with the Chelsea management to ask whether they’d consider a loan deal with an option to buy.

It would be a good opportunity for Batshuayi, but he will once again be having to fight against some real top names up-front. At Marseille, he was their main man, and because of that, he was able to flourish. At Atleti, things will be different, and he’ll have to fight his way into the starting line-up.

Batshuayi is certainly a character, which is why everyone is rooting for him to find his form and get back into his brilliant goal-scoring ways.
