Marc Andre-Ter Stegen Speaks On Real Madrid Without Cristiano Ronaldo

They might not have asked for it, but Real Madrid fans are getting Marc Andre-ter Stegen’s two cents on Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Los Blancos.

Ronaldo, in what is the most sensational transfers of this summer’s window, made the move from Real to Juventus in a deal reported to be around £100 million.

This and the departure of Zinedine Zidane means it’s uncertain times for Real Madrid. They have won four Champions League trophies in five seasons, a truly remarkable record, but can they do the same without their key man – Ronaldo?

Barcelona goalie ter Stegen has given his thoughts on the situation, saying via outlet AS.

“I think they have an amazing team, like every year, just like us.”It’ll be equally difficult to play against them with or without Ronaldo.

“You have to understand that this is a player who made the difference in a lot of games, but we focus ourselves on our game and we know that, if we’re confident, we have the chance to do it all.”

Of course, he’s right. Real still have the likes of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Isco, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric in their ranks – a group of world-beaters who are still capable of achieving great things.

To continue the success of Real’s last few seasons in Europe will be tough going for new manager, Julen Lopetegui, but their poor form in the league can be build upon. Winning a La Liga title would be a massive achievement, but it’s some ask.
