William and Kate will officially open V&A on royal visit to Dundee on Tuesday – The Courier

Prince William and Kate Middleton will officially open Dundee’s V&A on Tuesday.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – known as the Earl and Countess of Strathearn in Scotland – will visit the £80 million design museum in the afternoon.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.The Earl and Countess, who both attended nearby St Andrews University, are expected to greet members of the public outside the Kengo Kuma-designed waterfront building following the visit.
Kensington Palace said the couple “are looking forward to returning” Dundee, having last visited the city in 2015.

The Duchess is the V&A’s first royal patron. She is expected to give a short speech during her visit.
The royals are also expected to meet with members of the public.
The Earl and Countess of Strathearn during their visit to the RRS Discovery in Dundee in 2015.The V&A opened to the public on September 15 last year, with thousands attending the accompanying 3D Festival at Slessor Gardens which marked the occasion.
V&A Dundee director Philip Long added: “We are honoured to be welcoming the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to officially open V&A Dundee.

“Through an eclectic programme, we aim to inspire people and provoke discussion about the role of design in everyone’s lives.”
