Pride shouldn’t be a celebration this year, it should be a warning – The Telegraph

Pride has London dripping in rainbow flags and glitter as the capital gears up for thousands of LGBTQ+ groups to march through its streets.

But Pride 2019 punctuates the end of a terrible year for LGBTQ+ rights. From the recent bus attack on a lesbian couple to Brunei’s attempt to stone gay citizens to death, the LGBTQ+ community has had an onslaught of hate.

Instead of this year being a carnival, it should be a warning against complacency.

LGBTQ+ groups have fought long and hard to get to where we are. Sadly, that fight must continue.
