Spider-Man: Far From Home’s Mysterio almost looked completely different – digitalspy.com

Spider-Man: Far From Home‘s Mysterio look was nearly unrecognisable when the movie was being made, though the artists decided in the end to closely align his costume with the comics.
Marvel Studios’ Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding has opened up about how they went about adapting the comics character, at one point toying with making his fish-bowl head more in line with the human head shape.
“We were trying to do that,” hesaidof fitting his head inside a massive bowl shape. “We were seeing early on if it would be better if we tried to turn it into more of a head-friendly shape. And then you do it and it just doesn’t look like Mysterio.
“When you start down these roads of looking what was done in the past from the comics and seeing how it translated for the screen, there’s so many problems that are solved for us that we don’t necessarily even register.
“I tried to do other versions of the big fishbowl head without the cloak or smaller cloak, and it just doesn’t work. [Comics artist Steve] Ditko got it right the first time.”
Far From Homeintroduces Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio, and it seems that the actor became very good friends with his Spidey co-star Tom Holland on set.

“As everyone knows, Tom Holland is a real pain in the ass. It’s about wrangling that enormous ego of his and just making sure he stays where he is, says his line, does his job,” Gyllenhaaljoked toDigital Spy.
“Every time I describe working with Tom Holland, it sounds like I’m describing my favourite cake, so I try and stay away from all the euphemisms. I think he’s a great kid, he works really hard.”
