Premier League club Chelsea were hit with a two-year transfer ban last month due to breaching regulations in relation to the signing of youth players.

The Blues appealed the ban, with the club expected to be able to sign players throughout the upcoming summer transfer window while the lengthy appeal process takes place.

But FIFA have denied Chelsea’s request to delay one year of the ban, which means the west London side cannot register any new players this summer.

Chelsea could ask the Court of Arbitration for Sport to make their own ruling, which would allow Chelsea to bring new signings in.
