Last week, fans were given what turned out to be false hope as it emerged that Wilder would be meeting with AJ’s American broadcaster DAZN over a potential deal.

It was reported that the WBC heavyweight champion was offered upwards of $100million for three fights against Dominic Breazeale, Anthony Joshua and then Anthony Joshua again in a rematch.

However it’s now claimed his team will reject the offer and this news appears to have taken the wind out of Hearn.

“I don’t know yet,” Joshua’s promoter told ThaBoxingVoice when asked about the latest reports: “Apparently he’s got a press conference on Tuesday.

“I don’t know if they’re announcing they’re boxing [Breazeale] on Showtime, or if it’s a multi-fight deal [to commit to Showtime long-term].

“But I’m glad people are starting to see the truth and we’ll let that unfold…

“It’s a fortune. I don’t think the people around him want him to fight Anthony Joshua because I think they think he might get beat.

“And I think they don’t particularly like us, they don’t wanna give Joshua all the power in the sport of boxing to be undisputed champion.”

Tyson Fury recently signed a deal linking himself to US broadcaster ESPN in the long-term, while Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder to this point have only been tentatively linked to DAZN and Showtime respectively.

Eddie Hearn believes that, should Wilder commit to Showtime for a set period of time, it would create a significant barrier to prevent an undisputed heavyweight title bout from happening.

“If they sign a multi-fight deal, it’s clear they don’t want the fight, Hearn continued.

“It looks like it [is done with].”
