The Dab Celebration Will Be Included In FIFA 19 And More Controllers Will Be Smashed

We all know that one guy who, after scoring a goal on FIFA, runs to the halfway line and dabs to the camera.

They proceed to watch every single replay to rub salt into the wounds. You resist the urge to launch your controller out the window in sheer frustration as your opponent screams down the mic, taunting at how bad you at the game.

I mean, it was bad in previous FIFA’s, but the dab celebration has just added fuel to the fire in recent months.

When it was introduced to FIFA 18 thanks to Paul Pogba, plenty complained about the frustrating arm flailing.

I mean, there’s a three minute YouTube compilation of the Manchester United midfielder dabbing like there’s no tomorrow, so it was always going to be included.

Clearly EA Sports haven’t taken that on board and it has been confirmed that it will feature in the new release.

New gameplay emerged at the weekend showing a game between Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, and when Paulo Dybala opened the scoring in the 19th minute, a dab was used to celebrate the goal.

Skip to the 1 minute 40 second mark to see it in action:

So, what exactly is the Dab?

In an interview with Esquire, Pogba, who was one of the first to perform the celebration, said the following about how the dab became an actual thing:

“First of all, it started in America with [hip hop group] Migos. I started doing it, because I liked the music, I liked the dance, and people loved it because they can do nice videos.

“But Dab is Dab, now it’s gone. I think I’ve done the last Dab of the season. Now it’s the Billy dance.

Pogba then explained the origin behind ‘The Billy Dance’:

“You saw it [after we beat Ajax]. The Billy dance is created by my friend Billax. I call him my brother, he’s a football coach now. He’s one of the people I grew up with. I played with them when I was a kid and they are still my best friends.

“So that’s the dance we have. And I will make sure that everyone does it. I’ll make sure that it goes on Fifa 18!”
