The Time Conor McGregor Broke The Record On A Boxing Machine

Conor McGregor faces the toughest task of his UFC career when he takes on Khabib Nurmagomedov on October 6th. If he manages to land anything like his record breaking punch then he could inflict the Russian’s first loss.

It’s been two years since Conor McGregor stepped inside the octagon to fight. His last MMA contest was against Eddie Alvarez as he became the lightweight title.

In the meantime the Notorious has had a very short spell as a boxer. He switched sports to face Floyd Mayweather for the American’s 50th professional fight in the sweet science but came up short being stopped in the 10th round.

McGregor will next switch back to UFC on October 6th when he comes up against fierce rival and the most dangerous man he’s faced in the octagon to date in the form of Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The Russian has promised to take the Irishman down to the mat and beat him there whereas McGregor’s best chance of winning is by landing one of his famed left hands. One like the time he beat the record on the boxing machine, recorded by his trainer John Kavanagh:

McGregor has already been throwing verbal shots in the build up to the big fight just 10 days away and his words have landed him with words of warnings from one of Khabib’s own stablemates.

The Irishman brought up ‘The Eagle’s’ connection with Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov, Kadyrov funded the fight club the Khabib belongs to in Grozny.

That mention in the press conference hasn’t gone unnoticed. Fellow member of the gym Khusein Khaliev posted avideo on Instagramwarning McGregor,You will have to answer for your words. I recommend you apologize as soon as possible.”

At the press conference McGregor went after his opponent’s dad and the relationship with the dictator saying,“The Chechen people know what I am talking about when I called his father a quivering coward. Him and Kadyrov were at a mosque together and he posted a picture of Kadyrov on his Instagram site.

“Kadyrov is the Chechen dictator, a crazy man, don’t get me wrong… [but] it’s such fake respect, out of fear.”

The former lightweight champion further proved he’d done research ahead of the press conference, which also doubled up as a good advert for his whiskey, when Khabib’s agent Ali Abdelaziz tried to get on the stage ahead of the face off.

The Dubliner called Abdelaziz’s a ‘terrorist snitch’ and ‘rat’ alluding to him being an FBI informant whilst McGregor also asked ‘How’s Noah?’ referencing Abdelaziz’s child.

War on the mic will soon turn into war in the octagon.
