Elton John returns to Mexico City after 14 years for two nights in October to bid the city a proper farewell. The shows arrive as he prepares to film in the UK for his Las Vegas hologram residency.
After much anticipation, Elton John is finally returning to Mexico City, a major musical performance hub that he hasn’t visited in 14 years. Presented by AEG Presents, Cardenas Marketing Network, and Enso Music, the influential performer will return for two nights on Friday, October 2, and Saturday, October 3, at Estadio Banorte to deliver a “proper farewell” to the city—something he wasn’t able to do during his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, thanks to the pandemic.
“Mexico City has always held a special place in my heart,” Elton shared. “I was truly disappointed that the pandemic kept me from touring Latin America during my Farewell Tour, which makes this return especially meaningful. I’m thrilled to finally share this very special moment with my fans after all these years.”
Banorte Bank card members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning on Monday, July 13, at 12 PM local time in Mexico City through Tuesday, July 14, at 11:59 PM. The Rock Club Artist Presale kicks off on Wednesday, July 15, at 12 PM local time in Mexico City through 11:59 PM. The general onsale begins Thursday, July 16, at 12 PM local time in Mexico City.
A limited number of exclusive VIP packages will also be available for all shows, which can include special reserved seating tickets, VIP photo opportunities at Elton’s piano, pre-show hospitality, custom merch, and much more.
The legendary singer-songwriter recently signed a multi-million-dollar deal to star in a bespoke Las Vegas residency at the new Hard Rock Hotel as a hologram. Elton will reportedly film performances this fall at the UK’s Pinewood Studios to be transformed into a “lifelike” hologram, said to be more advanced than the technology used for London’s hugely successful ABBA Voyage.
