Who among us doesn’t have a glitzy skirt that hangs limp in the back of the closet for most of the year? Luckily, Ayo Edebiri has found a styling trick that will give our fanciest of skirts some extra time in the sun.
Today, the actor arrived at a taping of The View in—what else?—Chanel. Fittingly, Edebiri opted for a look from Matthieu Blazy’s Métiers d’art 2026 show in New York: a midi skirt with an inverted cityscape print, its glittering skyline now forming an asymmetrical hem.

But, instead of an equally bold top, Edebiri took the statement skirt down a few notches with her styling, which she borrowed from the runway show (held, of all places, on a subway platform). Up top, she opted for a humble quarter-zip sweater, half-done to reveal a white tee underneath. Yes, that’s right: Edebiri made even the most essential finance guy apparel (save the puffer vest) a fashion endeavor worth considering. She kept the high-low styling going throughout, juxtaposing her dressy silver pointy-toe pumps with a casual white East-West shoulder bag and sporty wrap sunglasses.

Edebiri and her stylist, Danielle Goldberg, are at their when playing in this high-low sandbox. In September, she made a white long-sleeve and navy shorts look utterly glam with her pointy-toe pumps, draped sweater, and ladylike bag; in February 2024, she dressed up a white button-up and jeans with scores of Tiffany & Co. jewelry and silver metallic heels.
Next time you’re yearning to wear your most fabulous skirt, consider Ayo Edebiri’s trick and pull out your trusty quarter-zip—or your private equity boyfriend’s.
