Britney Spears defends wild behavior in LA traffic: ‘Nothing is what it seems’

Britney Spears dismissed any criticism after she put on a wild show in Los Angeles traffic Thursday.

The singer, 44, was snapped standing tall above traffic while riding in a black Mercedes SUV on the 101 Freeway near Studio City in pics obtained by Page Six.

On Sunday, Spears posted a pic of herself dramatically lying on top of the roof of her car with her arms spread wide on Instagram, telling her followers she was “arching to the lords.”

“What people see is two seconds of insanity of me arching me to the lords !!!!!” she wrote. “yet the days and hours of my reality !!!!!! Nothing is what it seems.”

She added, “Psss I think I need to come out of the roof quite a bit more 🙄😳🤦‍♀️😂.”

It appeared to be business as usual for Spears Friday after her freeway antics made headlines. She posted a video of herself dancing in a glittery pink minidress on her Instagram, playfully sticking out her tongue.

Pics of Spears from Thursday show her throwing her head back passionately and stretching her arms across the roof of the vehicle she was riding in, as the traffic around her continued.

A source told the Daily Mail that the “Toxic” singer went through the sunroof “for a quick moment” to check out the traffic, since the cars were at a stop.

“She used to do this all the time as a kid growing up in the South. She loves having the warm wind blow through her hair in the summer, it’s fun,” they told the outlet.

The source added, “She is having a fun summer and is happy, she is in a good place. If it’s illegal to put your head through a sunroof, she doesn’t know it! She didn’t mean to do anything bad.”

Spears has been under scrutiny since she was arrested in March for DUI in California. The arrest came a few months after she was seen driving erratically following a night out with a friend.

She voluntarily checked herself into rehab in April, and exited the facility after less than a month.

A source told Page Six at the time, “She’s healthy and happy and feeling very positive and excited to start afresh. Rehab was a great opportunity for her to ground herself.”

Meanwhile, Page Six Hollywood reported earlier this month that the mother of two’s highly anticipated biopic is moving forward, as screenwriter Liz Meriwether was hired to pen an early draft. Meriweather’s credits include 2011’s “No Strings Attached, and the TV shows “New Girl,” “Dying For Sex” and “The Dropout.”

The “Wicked” duo of director Jon M. Chu and producer Marc Platt are also attached to the bipic.
