Grupo EGB becomes the first iGaming company recognised in the IIA May Brazil campaign

Esportes Gaming Brasil (EGB), the group behind the Esportes da Sorte, Onabet and Lottu brands, has become the first company in the iGaming sector to receive recognition in the IIA May Brazil campaign, organised by the Institute of Internal Auditors of Brazil (IIA Brazil).

The company was awarded the IIA May Brazil 2026 Winning Company seal, together with a trophy and certificate, during a ceremony held on 23 July. The recognition celebrates the initiatives carried out throughout May, International Internal Audit Awareness Month, aimed at raising awareness of the role of Internal Audit, dispelling common misconceptions and highlighting its contribution to governance, risk management, internal controls and strategic decision-making.

EGB is the first iGaming company to feature among the organisations recognised by IIA Brazil. In 2026, it joined approximately 100 leading organisations, including Petrobras, Banco Bradesco, Grupo Mateus and Vale, as well as companies within the Caixa ecosystem and other major Brazilian groups.

Carol Luna, Head of Compliance at Esportes Gaming Brasil, said:

Being the first iGaming company recognised in the IIA May Brazil campaign is a significant milestone for both our group and the wider industry. Regulation has ushered in a new era of professionalism, where growth, innovation and efficiency must go hand in hand with strong governance, integrity and the ability to anticipate risk.

Campaign combined communication, engagement and training To qualify for the IIA May Brazil 2026 campaign, participating organisations were required to meet a series of criteria, including publishing at least four pieces of original content on their official social media channels and carrying out at least two internal or external initiatives, such as webinars, presentations or training sessions. All activity had to be supported by evidence and submitted to IIA Brazil for evaluation.

Eligible organisations were assessed by a panel of IIA Brazil representatives based on the quality and relevance of their content, creativity, originality, reach, engagement and the diversity of initiatives delivered. Throughout May, Esportes Gaming Brasil successfully met all of the campaign’s requirements. Activities included educational videos explaining the role of Internal Audit, a series addressing common myths and misconceptions, and content documenting the development of the company’s new Internal Audit function.

The campaign also featured the Audit EGB Webinar, delivered as an open discussion and broadcast to employees across the business. The session explored the strategic importance of Internal Audit within the iGaming industry.

In addition, the company organised an in-person training programme for professionals working within the second and third lines of defence, bringing together representatives from Internal Audit, Quality, Compliance and Monitoring.

Carol Luna added:

Our goal was to bring Internal Audit closer to our people and demonstrate that the function is not isolated or focused solely on identifying non-compliance. It is a strategic partner that transforms information into meaningful insights, drives continuous improvement and helps the business build more efficient processes and stronger controls.

The awards ceremony followed the 2026 Chief Audit Executives (CAE) Meeting, which brought together Internal Audit leaders from organisations across Brazil to discuss the latest trends and challenges facing the profession.
