‘Jim Queen’ Stars a Gay Influencer Facing a Virus That’s His Worst Nightmare (Exclusive Cannes Clip)

Jim Parfait has it all. The gay influencer is ripped and hugely popular. In fact, he is an icon of the Gym Queens community in Paris, a party king of the Marais district, the heart of queer life in the French capital. What can go wrong?! Well, a lot!

Because if you are on top like Jim, the only way is down – way down! And that brings with it the threat of being ripped – ripped to shreds, that is. For example, if you lose your health, strength and status. And that’s exactly the nightmare that Jim, one of the protagonists of the animated satire Jim Queen, world premiering in the Cannes Film Festival‘s Midnight Screenings lineup Sunday going into Monday, is facing.

The feature film is the creation, and directorial feature debut, of Nicolas Athané and Marco Nguyen, who co-wrote it with Simon Balteaux and Brice Chevillard. David Alric and Arthur Delabays of French animation studio Bobbypills (Creature Commandos) produced the movie, on which Global Constellation is handling sales.

THR can now exclusively premiere a clip from Jim Queen, starring Mr. Perfect himself, Jim Parfait, voiced by Alex Ramirès. The voice cast also features Jérémy Gillet and gay porn icon François Sagat, among others. In the clip from the movie, we get to go inside Jim’s fitness temple and get to admire some of his routines, before we get a first glimpse of the potential horror threatening to tear down all the success and fame of the zero percent body fat life that he has built for himself over time.

The exclusive clip also takes us to a medical center where Jim hopes to find out what may, or may not, be ailing him. Are those sweat pearls of fear on the face of his medical advisor and friend?! A word of caution: her diagnosis will not only shock Jim, but also you!

Watch the exclusive clip for Jim Queen here.
