No More Room In Hell 2 Is Out Now, Bringing Its ‘Intense’ Co-Op Survival FPS To Xbox

One of the games featured in our weekly “coming to Xbox” article was No More Room In Hell 2, an “intense 8-player zombie shooter” that recently left Early Access and launched on Xbox Series X|S consoles with its version 1.0 release.

The FPS will have you and your squad deploy across several mission locations throughout the Northeast Coast of the US to fend off hordes of zombies. Features include proximity voice chat, permadeath and infections, and customisable loadout builds.

In No More Room in Hell 2, you deploy as an emergency Responder into the eerie darkness of various zombie-infested locations. Join up with others and complete vital missions to aid humanity’s survival. But stay cautious: every encounter with the horde can lead to infection – or even permadeath for your Responder. Every fight is a struggle, every victory another step back from the brink of apocalypse.

There’s only been a handful of reviews since its version 1.0 launch, but the general feeling is that it’s in a much better state now. It’s being compared to the likes of Left 4 Dead and Dead Island, but with a greater focus on co-op extraction gameplay.

Torn Banner Studios CEO Steve Piggott said bringing the game to version 1.0 “has been the culmination of unyielding passion and teamwork between our studio and community”. Piggott mentioned that working “side-by-side” with players helped the team “refine this sequel into a modern co-op horror nightmare”.

Chris Jones of publisher Green Man Gaming added:

“Bringing No More Room In Hell 2 to console players, complete with full feature parity and cross play, is a massive milestone…”

Insider Gaming was one of the few outlets to publish a new review awarding it an 8/10, although they played the PC version rather than the Xbox console one. Here’s what they had to say:

“No More Room in Hell 2’s 1.0 update is a solid representation of what happens when a developer commits to delivering something special for that ‘graduation’ point in an early-access lifecycle. It truly embodies everything meant by the word ‘upgrade’.”

Thanks to some new footage from Fuzion Xbox Testing, we can see No More Room In Hell 2 looks great on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Regarding frame rates, as you can see from the videos below, it looks like the game targets 60FPS on both Xbox Series X and S consoles, but does occasionally drop into the lower 50s.
