Win a HOTBIN Composting Bundle for Your Home

A competition is underway to give two UK residents a chance to win a HOTBIN composting bundle. This offers a practical, sustainable way to manage food and garden waste at home.

What’s the prize?

Each winner will choose one of two bundles:

Each bundle includes the HOTBIN composter, a plinth to raise it off the ground, and a garden kneeler for comfort during use. All items are included to start composting with ease.

How does HOTBIN work?

The HOTBIN is insulated and keeps a warm internal environment. This warmth speeds up decomposition of organic waste.

It breaks down food scraps, cooked meals, small bones, and weeds in as little as 30 days. The heat from microbial activity kills pests and pathogens, making the final compost safe and nutrient-rich.

Users can collect compost every few weeks. It can be used in pots, flower beds, or vegetable plots. This peat-free compost supports sustainable gardening by reducing peat extraction, which harms habitats and releases carbon.

Why is this significant?

The HOTBIN has been named a Best Buy by BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine. It was the fastest composter tested in a comparative review.

Its compact size fits balconies, apartments, and small gardens. This makes composting accessible to beginners and those with limited outdoor space.

By turning waste into soil nutrients, the HOTBIN supports a circular economy. It reduces landfill use and cuts greenhouse gas emissions from decomposing organic waste.

How to enter

Enter by answering a question correctly by 23:59 on 8 November 2026. The question will be posted on the competition page.

Prize details

Winners will be selected at random from correct entries after the closing date. Winners will be notified by email within seven days of the close.

If a winner doesn’t respond within 28 days, the prize may go to a runner-up or be offered again in a future promotion. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be cashed out or deferred.

The Promoter may replace the prize with one of equal or greater value. Personal details may be shared with the prize provider for delivery.

Terms and conditions

Who runs the competition?

The promotion is managed by Immediate Media Company London Limited (company number 06189487). It follows the BBC Code of Conduct for competitions, ensuring fairness and transparency.

What about privacy and data?

Personal information is handled carefully. Winners can request their surname and county via a self-addressed envelope. The Promoter will contact them before releasing this data and offer the chance to object or restrict sharing.

Why does this matter?

Home composting reduces household waste and supports sustainable gardening. With a HOTBIN, users turn daily kitchen and garden waste into valuable soil nutrients.

This reduces reliance on peat-based composts. It helps protect habitats and cut carbon emissions. As more people adopt such systems, demand for efficient, easy composting tools will grow.

What to watch next?

As interest in sustainable living grows, innovations like the HOTBIN may inspire future smart, compact, and eco-friendly home systems. Future versions could include app monitoring or smart home integration.
