Ariana Grande shades failed marriage with savage move during ‘Eternal Sunshine’ tour

Ariana Grande poked fun at her failed marriage to her ex-husband, Dalton Gomez, on the first night of her “Eternal Sunshine” tour.

The singer kicked off her highly anticipated tour Saturday at the Oakland Arena in Oakland, California, and referenced her divorce while singing her 2019 hit “Thank U, Next,” a song famously about her ex-boyfriends, including Pete Davidson, Big Sean and the late Mac Miller.

The lyrics include, “One day I’ll walk down the aisle / Holding hands with my mama … Only wanna do it once, real bad / Gon’ make that last.”

After singing, “Only wanna do it once, real bad” on Saturday, Grande playfully held up two fingers and laughed, seemingly referring to her being open to remarrying after her first marriage didn’t work.

Grande’s “Eternal Sunshine” tour marks her return to touring after taking a seven-year break. At one point during opening night, Grande fought back tears and emotionally thanked her fans.

“I missed you,” she said as the audience cheered. “It’s great to see you.”

“This is very overwhelming, so thank you so much for all of your love,” she added.

Grande and Gomez, a luxury real estate agent, finalized their divorce in March 2024 after three years of marriage.

The exes had a prenuptial agreement and Grande made a one-time payment of $1.25 million to Gomez.

“They came to the decision together,” an insider told Page Six in July 2023 about their split. “They were having problems before January, but they want to remain best friends.”

However, Grande, 32, seemingly called out Gomez, 30, on her song “Twilight Zone” from her 2025 album, “Eternal Sunshine.”

On the track, Grande sings about mistakenly thinking she knows the person she’s dating, but discovering the façade was a lie.

“Did I dream the whole thing? / Was I just a nightmare? / Different dimensions / Stuck in the twilight zone / Is this a black-and-white scene? / If so, then I’m in the gray one,” the lyrics read.

“Hope you win for Best Actor / ‘Cause I had you completely wrong,” she goes on. “Does she know you’re not who you say you are?

Grande is currently dating her “Wicked” co-star Ethan Slater, 34, whom she’s been linked to since July 2023.
