More like NFL minus.
On one of the most-anticipated sports days of the year, the NFL dropped the ball with its direct-to-consumer product, NFL+. The highlight of paid premium tier app — which costs $14.99 per month or $99.99 for the season — features NFL RedZone, the popular channel that bounces from game-to-game, which was inaccessible to countless subscribers, fuming on social media.
“We are aware of the issues affecting the NFL+ experience and are working to fix them. We apologize for the inconvenience,” the NFL+ account wrote on X. “If you are experiencing technical difficulties, please submit a ticket to our customer support team. https://support.nfl.com.”
Fans responded to the tweet with frustration and requests for refunds.
“This is insane. 45 mins in and I can’t watch any game. Embarrassing,” one user wrote.
“Yea this is just trash. 1 hour into Sunday and your servers just don’t allow PAYING customers to watch,” another wrote. “There needs to be a refund.”
At 2:14 p.m., the NFL+ account said the issues “have been resolved.”
NFL+ Premium also features game replays (full game, condensed game, and all-22 coaches film), which may be necessary for the customers who have missed so much of the action they spent months waiting to see.
There is also a base tier of NFL+ at half the cost, which includes local, primetime and postseason games on phones and tablets, on-demand shows and live game audio of every game.
The app debuted in 2022 and reportedly has more than two million subscribers.
Maybe fewer after Sunday.
