May 6 (UPI) — Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers were called to a Falcon home where a black bear settled down for a nap in a basement window well.

CPW Southeast Region said on social media that officers were called to the home on a report of a bear in a window well, and they arrived to find the male bruin fast asleep.

The officers tranquilized the approximately 250-pound bear to keep it asleep and opened the window to bring him inside the house.

They used a litter to carry the bear up the stairs and out of the house to a waiting trailer with help from the homeowner and a neighbor.

The bear was given a drug to reverse the tranquilizer and released into an “appropriate bear habitat” about three hours southwest of Colorado Springs.
