Behind the Scenes at Allure’s Best of Beauty Live Evening Event
Editors, content creators, and beauty industry leaders gathered for a 30th-anniversary celebration of Allure’s Best of Beauty. The event took place at Halo Twenty Eight in Manhattan’s Financial District, following a full day of masterclasses and product demos. This evening session—called BoB After Dark—offered a more intimate, immersive experience for attendees who had already participated in the morning events.
What Happened: A Night of Industry Engagement
The evening began with full champagne flutes served by eight servers. Guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres, Silver Oak wines, and signature cocktails like the Rouge Affair and the Silver Oak martini. These drinks set a luxurious tone, blending elegance with the personal joy of celebration.
Attendees included editors, creators, and founders. The event was a VIP cocktail party with hands-on product sampling and interactive moments. Guests moved freely between booths, chatting, testing products, and connecting with innovators. This environment built real relationships between consumers and creators.
Meetings with Industry Leaders
Attendees met award-winning founders like Charlotte Palermino of Dieux Skin, Anastasia Soare, Danessa Myricks, and Octavia Morgan. Jacqueline Kovalcin, 25, said meeting Palermino was a dream come true. She called it ‘a huge inspiration’ for someone in skincare.
For many, this was rare access to industry pioneers. Kovalcin said, ‘It was literally the coolest night ever.’ Such moments show how the event turns a product list into a living community of collaboration and inspiration.
Injectable Appointments and Product Sampling
Guests with VIP+ tickets got injectable treatments through SkinSpirit. A booth rep said nearly 65 appointments were held during the day. These sessions highlighted the growing role of aesthetic medicine in everyday beauty culture.
Attendees also visited L’Oréal Paris’s glam station to prepare for the red carpet. The station offered real-time makeup tools and products. This hands-on experience helped influencers and creators refine their personal brand looks.
Product Highlights and Prize Opportunities
Each attendee got a branded tote bag with products from the 319 Best of Beauty Award winners. Items included Ouai Detox Shampoo, Heretic Parfum Black Salt, Wella Professionals Ultimate Repair 5-in-1 Protective Leave-In, Makeup By Mario Ethereal Eyes Palette, and Dr. Idriss Major Fade Flash Mask.
The Allure Beauty Box station let guests spin a wheel. Prizes included subscription discounts and the chance to win a full monthly curated box. Avantika Vandanapu won 40% off a box. A guest won an entire box. These rewards kept attendees engaged long after the event ended.
Editorial Reflections and Industry Recognition
Allure’s editor in chief Jessica Cruel spoke to the crowd. She praised brands, researchers, and supply-chain professionals. She said, ‘All of you deserve a big round of applause because it’s your work that gets the Best of Beauty seal.’
The EltaMD booth was lively. Workers danced to ‘I Love It’ by Icona Pop and ‘Run The World (Girls)’ by Beyoncé. They handed out their award-winning UV Clear Blemish-Prone & Oil Balancing SPF 50. This mix of fun and function made science feel accessible and joyful.
Attendee Reactions and Event Legacy
Many said they weren’t ready to end the night. Kovalcin said, ‘It was my first Best of Beauty Live, but definitely not my last.’
